Their children must be amazingly docile.

Arwen's walking now, though she crawls when she really wants to get somewhere. She has four teeth, and two more about to poke through. She's still a teeny weenie girl, but she's very healthy. She loves food. LOVES food. Several meals end with her eating her brother's leftovers.

How's this for lazy...rather than post all the links to the photo albums here, I'm just going to link to her brother's post with the links already there! Ha HA! One more click for you, much less work for me!

Most importantly, the photos from her first birthday party. She stands, she can walk holding on to things. She says Mama, Dada, night-night, candy (blame Halloween), poop and something that sounds like Brother.

My going back to work has been hard for her. She's very laid back. She loves to climb stairs. She wants to eat whatever we're eating, but she'd rather nurse.

She is rolling rolling rolling all the time now. It makes it nearly impossible to change her diaper or dress her

The other day she was on the blanket in the yard, "swimming" and trying to crawl while Sam and I played Tickle Chase. At one point, Sam ran over to her, crouched down and placed his hand on her head. He wiggled his fingers and said "Teekoo teekoo teekoo!" He then rested his cheek on her soft fuzzy head and said "I so happy!"

Blogger has been highly inconvenient lately, so it has taken me a while to get this up.

Arwen is growing so much! She's still a peanut compared to her older brother, but she's a plump, happy peanut. She rolls and wiggles and giggles. She's about to cut her first tooth (ugh) and she is madly trying to crawl (she looks like she's swimming). Sam tells her he loves her every single day and showers her with kisses. He has given us the nickname of "Momby" (Mama and Baby combined).

Just Moments Ago

I was putting laundry away in their room. Arwen was on her blanket on the floor, wiggling and looking around. Sam ran in and when I said "Careful, Sam! Don't step on your baby!" he got on the floor next to her and said "Here you go." very sweetly as he placed HIS BLANKIE over her. He put his face near hers and gave her a kiss. She lit up like Piccadilly Circus!

Sam then ran out of the room and said some things to the bunnies on TV, then he ran back in and tossed his blankie over Arwen. I said "No, Sam, not over her face!". He yanked it off, then tossed it back over her. Then he did it again. It took me a minute to realize that he was playing peek a boo with her.

I told him that he was the best Big Brother in the whole world.

Arwen is such a lucky little girl.

Arwen had no real idea of what was going on, but there were lots of hugs and kisses and family and soft things, so she was happy. She's trying to roll over and she laughs every time her brother looks at her.

This little girl knows that she is loved, indeed.

Arwen is growing so much! She smiles and giggles and wiggles. She saw herself in the mirror for the first time and was pleasantly confused. She was also ridiculously adorable in her fuzzy bear suit!

She gave her first real smile last night. I was tickling her feet, and she stretched her little mouth up in a grin. She smiled again this afternoon when her Aunt Tessa held her for the first time!

Arrival

I went into the hospital on the 24th. I had a gel applied to my cervix to soften it up, and the plan was to see how things were progressing the next morning and decide if we should have a C section or not.

My water broke right after lunch, and by 6:05 pm she was in my arms. 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. I pushed 3 times. THREE! Considering her brother was a 23 hour labor with 5 hours of pushing, I was almost confused by the ease. Then again, Arwen was a full 3 pounds smaller than Sam was. I wonder how big she would have been had she gone full term?

We came home on Saturday the 27th. Sam is polite to her. I don't think he really understands who she is. He says "Hi, Baby." to her from time to time. He very kindly shared one of his Thomas trains with her "Here you go." he said sweetly.

She sleeps a lot. I have to wake her up for feedings sometimes. She's small and fuzzy and very, very cute.
